Labor Day And Its History

Labor Day comes every year on the first monday of September. The first Labor Day was held in 1882. Still no one quite knows who first thought of the idea. There was Peter McGuire who was then the general secretary of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. He was also cofounded the American Fediration of Labor. He first suggested "who from rude nature have delved and carved all the grandeur we behold". Then there was Matthew Mcguire. Many of whom believe created Labor Day. He worked as a machinist and later was the secretary of a local 344 of the International Asscosiation Machinist in Patterson New Jersey thought of the idea in 1882 while sevring as secretary of the Central Labor Union in New York.

Anyhow Labor Day is a celabration of the achievements of an American worker and how they have added martirally to the highest standard of living. Read more HERE.
